How to get to CTU campus 

  • from the Václav Havel Airport

By bus no. 119, direction Nádraží Veleslavín (terminal station) then change to the Metro green line A station Veleslavín (direction Depo Hostivař), get off at Dejvická station. It takes around 30 minutes.
From the Nadraží Veleslavín you can take as well as the tram No. 1, 2, 20, 26. It takes around 30 minutes.

  • from the Main Railway Station (Hlavní nádraží)

Directly by tram No. 26 (direction Divoká Šárka), get off at Dejvická stop. It takes around 20 minutes. 
Or by Metro red line C from Hlavní nádraží (direction Háje), get off at Museum station and change the line to green one and go to the Dejvická station (direction Nemocnice Motol). It takes around 15minutes.

The first day we will deal with the main and general concepts supporting the Alkaline Activation of materials. It means: Chemistry of alkaline cements; mechanisms of reactions; development of microstructure and development of mechanical strengths in pastes, mortars and concretes; rheological considerations; durable characteristics; etc.

The idea about the second day is to clarify many issues that nowadays are the reason of many confusions in the scientific community: History of alkaline cements; Materials for fabricating precursors; Chemicals (liquids or solids) for activation; Interaction of chemicals with additives for concrete; Real CO2 savings by using alkaline cements; Cement or concrete: two alternatives in alkaline activation; Efflorescences; Standards; etc.
